Objective

ANP|WWF Portugal wanted consumers to see the environmental weight of their own diets: food systems account for 26% of global greenhouse gas emissions, 40% of habitable land and 70% of freshwater use, and animal protein makes up 62% of the protein available to Portuguese consumers. Rather than release the findings as a technical report, the organisation built a way for people to encounter the data through their own eating habits, then pointed them to the full Guia da Proteína for what to do about it.

Solution

The quiz opens on a single line — Diz-me o que comes, descobre quem és — and a first question about whether the visitor thinks their eating habits are sustainable. From there, illustrated screens walk through a short series of questions about what the person actually eats day to day, each answer chosen with a tap. At the end, the quiz returns a personal protein-consumption profile with suggestions for swapping in more sustainable protein sources, plus a link into the full Guia da Proteína guide for anyone who wants to read further.

How it plays

4 steps
  1. 1

The player lands on the quiz's start screen, invited to play "Diz-me o que comes, descobre quem és!" and find out whether their eating habits are sustainable.

  2. 2

The player answers a series of questions about what they eat and their protein consumption habits, choosing between illustrated, animated colour cards for each answer.

  3. 3

Once all questions are answered, the player receives a personal protein-consumption profile — a result that frames who they are by what they eat.

  4. 4

Alongside the result, the player gets recommendations for building sustainability into their food choices and access to the "Guia da Proteína," ANP|WWF's guide to sustainable protein sources.
