Objective
With pandemic dine-in restrictions lifting, Burger King needed a reason to pull families back into its restaurants and make the King Jr. Meal the obvious kids' pick. Printing a QR code on the box and the toy's hang-tag turned the meal itself into the entry point to a game, while the web-based format meant delivery customers could join in too. For Rovio, it put Angry Birds in front of the walk-in audience of thousands of BK locations worldwide.
Solution
Scan the QR code on the King Jr. box, the plush toy's tag, or a sign in the restaurant, and the game opens straight in your phone's camera — no app to install. You pick the virtual bird that matches your toy, then place its nest and three eggs on your table or floor. Waves of Hatchlings creep in to steal the eggs, and you tap them away or fire slime-catapult shots to slow them down. Defend well enough and you earn a power-up that flips to the front camera, where a face-triggered super move blasts every Hatchling and returns the stolen eggs to the nest. When it's over, you save a photo of your defense and share it.

The game launches from a QR code printed on King Jr. meal packaging, a plush toy's tag, or in-restaurant signage; scanning it opens a browser link (no app download) with a localized splash screen and a Launch button.

On launch, the browser requests camera access and opens a world-tracking AR view over the player's real surroundings.

The player picks a virtual plush bird from a nine-piece collection, matching the toy included in their own King Jr. set.

The player aims the phone at a real floor or tabletop and places a nest holding three eggs into their own space.

In the core loop, waves of Hatchlings advance on the nest to steal the eggs; the player taps them to drive them off and fires slingshot shots of green slime that spread around the nest and slow the attackers.

The power-up switches the view to the front-facing camera, where the player performs a face-triggered super move that scatters all Hatchlings and returns any stolen eggs to the nest.
