Objective
Deutsche Bank was relaunching its employer brand around a new "Positive Impact" platform, competing harder than ever for graduate and technical talent across the UK, US, Germany and APAC. Rather than tell candidates about the bank's values in text, ThirtyThree wanted to put them inside a decision and let them feel the outcome, driving deeper engagement at campus events and more graduate applications.
Solution
A candidate picks up a tablet at a careers event and works through a short run of quiz questions built around real workplace situations. Each question offers four responses ranked from strongest to weakest, so there's no obvious right answer to guess — the player has to actually judge the situation. Behind the text, a glowing orb fills the screen and reacts the instant an answer is tapped, shifting its behavior to signal how good that choice was before any explanation shows up. The player reads the orb's response, moves to the next scenario, and after a handful of rounds the short session ends and the tablet passes to the next person in line.
Results
As part of the wider employer-brand campaign the quiz was built for, Deutsche Bank saw a 48% increase in careers-site visitors, a 50% increase in average engagement per social post, and a 35% increase in graduate applications in the first year — program-wide figures, not isolated to the quiz itself.
- 1
The player picks up a tablet showing the quiz's start screen, where an animated glowing orb is already alive in the background, setting the mood before any question appears.
- 2
Each question presents four answer options ranked from best to worst rather than a single correct choice, and the player taps the option that feels most appropriate.

- 3
The moment an answer is tapped, the background orb reacts instantly, changing its shape and behavior to reflect how good the choice was, ahead of any written explanation.
- 4
The orb settles back to its resting state and the next question appears, with the question-answer-reaction cycle repeating until the quiz is complete.
