Objective

As part of Gucci's centenary celebration in 2021, the brand created LadyBug to engage consumers through interactive entertainment within its mobile app. The game aimed to build a community of players and increase time spent in the branded retail app while integrating Gucci's house codes and design heritage through gamified experiences.

Solution

A tap-based mobile game inspired by Flappy Bird mechanics, where players guide a young ladybug learning to fly by navigating through giant vegetables as obstacles. Built with HTML5, GSAP, PixiJS, and Vue.js, the game featured a collectible badge system showcasing Gucci's historical design codes and a global leaderboard for competitive engagement. The game was integrated into Gucci's broader 'Gucci Arcade' platform within the mobile app.

Results

The game achieved recognition as an Awwwards Honorable Mention in the Fashion, Games & Entertainment, Promotional, Animation, and Colorful Design categories.
