Objective
Teletech's touchpoints with its audience were mostly transactional — tickets, merch, releases — so the brand needed a reason for people to open its app or site between events. A built-in arcade game with a monthly cash prize gave fans a recurring reason to come back, while the leaderboard's email sign-up folded play into Teletech's owned-audience database.
Solution
The page opens straight into a black-and-red terminal screen with the INRAVERS wordmark, a score counter and an audio toggle — no download, no login. Pressing Start drops the player into a Space Invaders-style shooter: they fly a ship along the bottom of the screen, fire on descending waves of enemies, dodge red bomb pickups, and grab a machine-gun power-up that speeds up their fire rate. Dying ends the run with a «Rave Over» screen showing the final score, and only then does the game ask for a public username and an email to post that score to the leaderboard. The leaderboard itself is a simple ranked table that resets every month, and it's shared with the same game embedded in Teletech's iOS and Android apps, so web and app players compete on one board.
- 1
The player opens Inravers at inravers.teletech.events or in the Teletech app to a dark terminal-styled title screen with the «Teletech <In>ravers/>» wordmark, a score counter and an audio toggle, offering «Start» or «Leaderboard» with no login or email required to play.
- 2
An Instructions panel frames the game as a Space Invaders homage and lays out the controls — spacebar or a target icon to shoot, held down for fast shoot, with left/right arrows or on-screen arrow buttons to move — plus the two non-enemy elements on the field: red dots as bombs to dodge and a power-up icon that grants machine-gun fire.
- 3
The same panel previews the post-run submission fields, explaining that the username will be public on the leaderboard while the email address is a private identifier collected to verify the winner of a monthly £50 store-credit competition.
- 4
In the core loop, the player moves a ship along the bottom of the screen, shooting up at descending enemies to raise the score, dodging falling bomb dots, and switching to held-down fast shoot as formations close in.
- 5
A machine-gun power-up can be picked up mid-run, temporarily upgrading fire rate and accelerating scoring.
- 6
The run ends when the ship is destroyed, landing on a «Rave Over» screen that displays the final score.
- 7
The player submits the score with a name for the public leaderboard and an email for private identification, then chooses to restart immediately or check the leaderboard.
- 8
The leaderboard opens as a modal, loading into a ranked table of rank, name and score; standings reset on a monthly cycle, with the top scorer each month selected for the £50 prize.
- 9
The same game is also embedded in the Teletech mobile app, listed there as a monthly score competition for £50 store credit.
