Objective

Williams Racing needed a draw that would bring energy to its pre-race London Fan Zone, and Kraken needed a way past the skepticism and confusion that keep people from ever opening a crypto account. Both pointed to the same fix: meet motorsport fans on ground they already understand — an arcade game — and use it to warm them up to Kraken before sending them to the trading platform.

Solution

At a retro arcade cabinet inside the Kraken zone, players take control of the Kraken octopus and steer it through a maze in classic Pac-Man style, gobbling bitcoins while dodging chasing fiat currencies against a Formula 1–themed backdrop. Scores post live to a public leaderboard shared with the zone's other activities, so every run is also a contest with whoever's playing next to you. Cross 3,000 points and the game earns you a Williams F1 cap — but only if you go find a Kraken ambassador on the floor to claim it. The end screen closes the loop by sending players straight to a Kraken web page to keep learning about the platform.

Results

1,139 leads collected over the one-week event, with a 99% completion rate among players reaching the redirect to Kraken's website.

How it plays

7 steps
  1. 1

Players find the game inside Kraken's stand within the free Williams Racing London Fan Zone on Piccadilly, alongside a Scalextric track and a hanging bar challenge, and approach a retro-style gaming station branded for the activation.

  2. 2

The start screen sets a hyper-colored maze scene washed in purple, pink and yellow, with a Formula 1 car and combined Kraken and Williams branding.

  3. 3

The player steers the Kraken octopus logo through the maze in place of Pac-Man, collecting scattered bitcoins for points while dodging chasing enemies shaped like fiat-currency symbols.

  4. 4

A round ends either when the chasers catch the player out of lives or when every bitcoin on the level has been collected, the standard win/loss condition of Drimify's maze format.

  5. 5

Finishing a round posts the player's score to a shared leaderboard displayed in the Kraken area, and completing the game captures the player's details as a lead; players replay to climb the rankings.

  6. 6

Scoring above 3,000 points wins a Williams F1 racing cap, claimed by approaching Kraken's on-site ambassadors, turning the win into a face-to-face conversation about the platform.

  7. 7

The end screen closes with a call to action directing the player to Kraken's website to learn about trading cryptocurrency on the platform.
