Objective
Corelex Shinei normally ran in-person factory tours for local schoolchildren as part of its environmental education on recycling wastepaper into toilet paper, but pandemic restrictions shut those visits down. The brand needed a way to keep that lesson going for any student with a smartphone, anywhere in the country, not just schools near the plant. A companion launch contest was built in to get people talking about Corelex and its recycled paper.
Solution
The story opens on tour day, except the factory turns out to be cursed: its machines have come to life, and a schoolboy teams up with Unchi-kun (a poop-shaped fairy mascot) to walk the plant floor and set them right. At each of five stations, the pair talks to that section's boss and a worker, who ask quick either/or questions — single-ply or double-ply, virgin pulp or recycled paper — before handing the player into a short reaction minigame against the station's machine, now a boss character in its own right. Clearing it earns a time, an S/A/B rank, and a collectible that drops onto the factory map. Once all five machines are running again, the game hands out an overall title based on the five results and rolls credits that explain what each machine actually does, with buttons to share the outcome on Facebook, Twitter, or LINE. A separate link off the main page leads to an unrelated infinite-scroll challenge: swipe to spin a toilet-paper roll, rack up a distance in meters, and check a live world ranking worth posting about on Twitter — during the campaign window, that same distance also counted as an entry for a lifetime supply of toilet paper.
- 1
The landing page presents the key visual, a tagline promising a tour of a toilet-paper factory through a series of games, a QR code for switching to mobile, a backstory block, and four character cards: the boy hero, the poop fairy guide Unchi-kun, the factory manager, and the possessed factory machines. Two entry buttons lead into the main virtual-tour game or a separate infinite-scroll challenge, alongside social-share links.

- 2
The main game opens on a title screen for "Cursed Toilet Paper Factory Tour" with a start button and a sound toggle (replaced by a retry button on return visits), followed by a tappable comic-strip intro establishing that the factory is cursed and the fairy Unchi-kun asks the boy for help.
- 3
A map screen shows a path through the factory with five marked stations, a walking figure that advances along the route, stars and lights marking cleared or still-cursed stops, and a panel tracking items found so far.
- 4
At each station the player reads a short dialogue introducing the possessed machine and its real factory role, then plays a timed minigame; a result screen shows a clear message, elapsed time, and an S/A/B star rank with options to retry or continue, after which a new item is added to the map's collection panel.
- 5
Each of the five stations tests a different single-touch skill tied to the machine's job: throwing trash into the collector, dodging/reacting to sort out metal, shaking to clean pulp of ink, winding dried pulp into paper, and cutting the sheet into even rolls.
- 6
Dialogue throughout the tour periodically pauses on two-button prompts, letting the player pick a response (e.g. knowing or not knowing a fact, single- vs double-ply paper, pulp vs recycled stock, which prefecture the factory is in, confessing or staying quiet) without branching the outcome.
- 7
After all five machines are cleared, a finale screen thanks the player for restoring each one by name and awards an overall title based on performance, with a weaker result prompting another attempt; an end-roll then revisits each machine's personality and its real role in the recycling process, closing with an invitation to visit the real factory and share buttons for the completed run.
- 8
The separate infinite-scroll challenge has the player drag-scroll to endlessly unroll a sheet of toilet paper, with a sound toggle; stopping reveals the total distance unrolled in meters, which can be shared on Twitter or re-attempted for a higher score, and during the campaign window fed into a real prize ranking for top and milestone-numbered scores.
