Objective
Euglena's name reads in Japanese as "green worm," and the mix-up had followed the biotech company into its own lobby — visitors, investors, and job candidates all walked in assuming a firm that turns worms into food and fuel. Dentsu Tokyo built a fix for the one audience whose first impression actually shapes the company's reputation: the people who show up in person.
Solution
A visitor steps up to the reception desk expecting a normal sign-in and instead finds a quiz console waiting for them. It asks what they think Euglena is and what the company actually does, then answers back with the real facts: the "worm" is a microalga, and the "strange company" is working on food and fuel for a world running short of both. Each wrong guess gets corrected on the spot, so by the last question the visitor has swapped their assumption for the real pitch. There's no link to share and no version outside the office — the quiz only exists at the desk, as the first thing you do before your meeting starts.
- 1
A visitor at Euglena's Tokyo headquarters is greeted not by a normal reception desk but by a device called "the entrance quiz," which stands in for the usual sign-in.
- 2
The device runs the visitor through a short multiple-choice quiz about the company and its namesake microalga, correcting the common misconception that "euglena" (ミドリムシ) means a worm, and showing instead that it is the microalgae Euglena grows to make food and fuel products.
