Objective
Unilever needed a single global launch moment for Magnum Infinity that could run in 26 markets at once without buying media market by market. The brief leaned on the first Pleasure Hunt's viral run to prove a shareable game could do the work of a paid campaign, and used a roster of luxury partners woven into the game world to keep the brand planted in premium, pleasure-seeking territory.
Solution
The game opens straight in the browser at pleasurehunt2.mymagnum.com, no install required, dropping the player into a real photographic street view of New York. Using the arrow keys, the player runs a woman left to right through the scene, timing jumps, flips, and grabs onto scooters and balloons to keep her moving and to scoop up chocolate bonbons scattered along the route, with rare cacao nibs adding a bonus. The route carries her on through Paris and Rio, and each city bends into its own arcade throwback — dodging Manhattan gridlock like Frogger, hopping Parisian rooftops like Balloon Fighter, riding an Ipanema wave like California Games — while she passes storefronts and props from Bvlgari, Quiksilver, KLM, and the Fasano hotel. A run ends at a tub of Magnum Infinity, after which a leaderboard appears and the player can post their score to Facebook or Twitter to challenge friends.
