Objective

Orange Cinéma Séries needed to introduce its US import "Justified" to French pay-TV subscribers and get people talking online before the show's January 16, 2011 premiere on Orange ciné choc. A dedicated microsite gave the channel a hub to build that pre-launch buzz.

Solution

Visitors land on a title screen bearing the "Justified" name and air date, then move between three sections: Accueil, Bande Annonce for the trailer, and Le Synopsis, which lays out the show's premise, cast cards, and the 13-episode first-season lineup, with a link out to orangecinemaseries.fr. The site also carried a shooting-gallery game in which the player stepped into U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens' boots and hunted down three wanted men.

How it plays

5 steps
  1. 1

The site opens on a title screen bearing the "Justified" logo and the broadcast details: Sundays at 20:40 starting January 16, on Orange ciné choc.

  2. 2

A top menu offers three sections — Accueil, Bande Annonce, and Le Synopsis — that swap content within the same page rather than loading new URLs.

  3. 3

The Bande Annonce section plays the series trailer.

  4. 4

The Le Synopsis section lays out the premise of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, who draws his gun only when it's "justified," alongside a browsable cast carousel (Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins, Natalie Zea, Nick Searcy, Jacob Pitts, and others) and a list of the thirteen season-one episodes, from "Fire in the Hole" to "Bulletville."

  5. 5

Elsewhere on the site, a shooting game casts the player as Raylan Givens hunting down three wanted criminals; trade coverage confirms this shoot-out format, but no further detail on its levels or ending survives.
