- 1
The game runs entirely inside Snapchat: the player opens the app and is greeted by branded Fanta Fantasies placements and creator videos explaining the task of hunting for a bottle on the map.
- 2
The player switches to Snap Map and scans the usual pins for a sponsored, floating Fanta Fantasies bottle marker planted over one participating 7-Eleven store — Australia's first Promoted Places placement used for a competition mechanic.
- 3
Having spotted the bottle, the player identifies the store it points to and gathers a squad, since a solo visit does not qualify.
- 4
The squad travels to that physical 7-Eleven, marked in-store with promo material, reopens Snap Map to see their group pinned at the location, and screenshots it as proof.
- 5
The player reaches the entry form by scanning a QR code on Fanta Fantasies packaging, visiting the brand site directly, or tapping a promo CTA inside Snapchat content.
- 6
On the brand's "How it works" page the player submits an online form with the Snap Map screenshot and required details; entry is open to ages 16+, with parental consent needed under 18, and no purchase is necessary.
- 7
The core loop repeats: the player can submit one new entry per day, hunting for the bottle at different stores with their squad, through to the October 4 deadline.
- 8
A promoter judging panel reviews all valid entries for creativity, originality, and best squad photo, picking a single winner on October 12, 2026, who receives a 10,000 AUD Free2Travel voucher redeemable for flights, accommodation, tours, or entertainment.
Objective
Coca-Cola South Pacific needed to launch its new Fanta Fantasies range, exclusive to 7-Eleven, and get Gen Z into stores rather than just in front of ads. The brief for Snap was explicit: trade passive impressions for trackable foot traffic at the point of sale, and do it inside a habit Gen Z already has — making plans with friends on Snap Map — rather than interrupting them with another channel.
Solution
Opening Snap Map, players spot something odd among the usual pins: a floating Fanta Fantasies bottle hovering over a participating 7-Eleven, Snapchat's first Australian use of sponsored map pins for a competition. The hunt is to round up a squad, physically travel to that store, and take a screenshot of Snap Map showing the whole group gathered there. Back home, they scan the QR code on a Fanta Fantasies pack (or tap through from Snapchat) to open the entry form and upload the squad screenshot. One entry a day is allowed, no purchase necessary, and a judging panel picks a single winner based on creativity and the best group photo rather than drawing a name at random.
