Objective

For its 2022 annual convention, Ubisoft wanted a shared activity that would pull 1,500 employees from around the world into one collective moment — a way to turn familiarity with the company's own games into something people could compare notes on and bond over. A trivia challenge built around Ubisoft's own catalog gave the event a common reference point everyone in the room could play with.

Solution

The player lands inside an illustrated space-themed game room, packed floor to ceiling with props, posters and interior details drawn in Ubisoft's house style. A prompt sets the challenge: 42 Ubisoft games are hidden somewhere in the scene. From there it's a spot-and-name hunt — the player scans the room, picks out objects and visual clues disguised as furniture, decor and background details, and matches each one to the game it references. A quiz-style interface around the scene tracks guesses as the player works through the room, turning the search into a running tally of how many titles they can call out correctly.

Results

1,500 convention attendees from around the world took part in the experience.

How it plays

4 steps
  1. 1

The player opens a branded PopCorn challenge screen at the Ubisoft 2022 convention and reads the goal: find references to Ubisoft games hidden inside a scene.

  2. 2

The scene is a densely illustrated "space gaming room" packed with objects, posters and equipment; an on-screen counter states the target of 42 Ubisoft games to find.

  3. 3

Players scan the room and spot-the-difference style, reading interior details to identify disguised references to Ubisoft titles — each clue is hidden as an object or visual pun rather than a logo.

  4. 4

Each identified game is named and logged through the challenge interface, with progress tracked against the 42-game target until the search is complete.
