Objective

Magnum was extending its Pleasure Hunt franchise to launch Magnum Kiss, a new five-flavor line inspired by French patisserie, and needed a story vehicle where each product got its own reveal moment. The 2011 and 2012 editions had already drawn 23 million players on PC, so the brand scaled the format up rather than starting over — and pushed it onto mobile for the first time, with no login or app install required.

Solution

The player takes control of the Pleasure Seeker Princess in Paris, working through five short action mini-games to rescue a kidnapped prince. Each game hands the player a different move: swiping to sprint and vault across rooftops, timing jumps past guards, planting bombs, dousing torches, or fencing off attackers, depending on which of the five stages — including Wilde Fire, Lights Off and Bombs Away — is loaded. Finishing one earns a kiss from the prince and unlocks one of the five Magnum Kiss flavors, then he's snatched away again and the player moves on to the next chase. A leaderboard tracks scores across sessions, giving players a reason to replay stages for a better run. On phones the same rooftop chases run touch-first in the browser, with no app download or account needed to jump in.

Results

The first two Pleasure Hunt installments (2011 and 2012) drew 23 million players combined before this third, mobile-enabled edition launched in 2013.

How it plays

7 steps
  1. 1

The campaign opens off-site with a physical ransom-style note assembled from cut-out letters, directing the reader to the promo site, where the story sets up: the player's prince has been kidnapped by the "Bad Girls" in Paris, and the player takes the role of the Pleasure Seeker Princess sent to rescue him.

  2. 2

The experience is structured as five separate mini-games, each a short Paris-set episode with its own mechanic, linked together by animated story transitions.

  3. 3

Mechanics vary by episode: dodging fire in Wilde Fire, sneaking through darkness in Lights Off, defusing explosives in Bombs Away, and in the remaining episodes racing, snatching objects, and fencing, including a rooftop chase built specifically for touchscreen control.

  4. 4

Clearing an episode has the heroine reach the prince for a kiss, which reveals one of the five Magnum Kiss flavors, each themed to a French pastry.

  5. 5

The prince is immediately kidnapped again, sending the player into the next of the five episodes until all five kisses are collected.

  6. 6

Each episode score posts to a leaderboard, encouraging replays for a higher ranking.

  7. 7

The whole experience runs directly in a mobile browser, with no app install or registration required.
