Objective

Kia launched the Techathlete Games to engage younger audiences and showcase the 2014 Kia Forte's technology features through an entertaining interactive experience. The campaign aimed to demonstrate the car's capabilities—from voice-command navigation to smartphone integration and digital media functionality—in a gaming context that would make these features memorable and fun.

Solution

Kia developed a Facebook app featuring five arcade-style games set in a low-poly 3D environment: Type-Wondo, Gymnas-Clicks, 100m Headles, Sla-La-La-Lom, and Gy-Row-Scope. Each game required different input methods (voice control, keyboard, mouse, smartphone synching) to highlight specific Forte features. Players could compete on a global leaderboard and enter a sweepstakes to win prizes including Xbox consoles, GoPro cameras, Nike FuelBands, and Beats by Dre headphones. The campaign ran from May 23 to July 9, 2013.
