Objective
Cdiscount, France's leading e-commerce platform, extended its November 2025 TV advertising campaign into an interactive gaming experience to boost customer engagement and brand recall. The campaign aimed to reinforce core brand values—fast delivery, affordability, and trusted partnerships—in a competitive digital marketplace. By transforming traditional advertising into a playable experience, Cdiscount sought to create a memorable customer touchpoint through entertainment.
Solution
Jumping Max is an HTML5 platformer built with Three.js, playable on desktop and mobile, where players guide Max (Cdiscount's warehouse mascot) through 20 progressively challenging levels in a warehouse setting. Gameplay involves avoiding obstacles (packages, pallets, lifts) while collecting megaphones to accumulate points. Each level introduces Cdiscount's core services—4-installment payments, express delivery, brand partnerships, discount pricing—as interactive bonuses. The campaign featured daily prize drawings with rewards spanning from appliances to a €4,000 trip via Cdiscount Voyages, iPhone 17 Pro, Nintendo Switch 2, and other electronics. Players could replay unlimited times to enter multiple contests. The game ran February 5 to March 4, 2026, across jumpingmax.cdiscount.com, Cdiscount.com, and social media.
Results
The game achieved Awwwards Site of the Day status on May 28, 2026, with a score of 7.31/10 across design and development dimensions. No public metrics were released regarding campaign reach, conversion rates, sales impact, or ROI.
