Objective
Vodafone Germany wanted to carry a Jung von Matt TV campaign about its network into an interactive channel, turning the ad's four "Netguys" characters into a browser game that let people experience the network's speed, power, reach and smartness for themselves.
Solution
Landing on netguys.vodafone.de, the player drops straight into a retro 8-bit-styled 3D city that's randomly assembled each time, so the streets, rooftops and blocks never look quite the same twice. They pick and control one of the four Netguys — each built around a single trait, whether it's outrunning obstacles, muscling through them, covering more ground, or outsmarting them — and run through short, casual bursts of platforming built for quick play straight off the ad. There's no install and no sign-up: the session starts the moment the page loads and ends whenever the player's had enough.
- 1
The game opens on a loading screen showing the Netguys logo, rendered in an 8-bit style with a modern twist that nods to the characters from the TV commercial.

- 2
From the menu, the player starts a game built around the four Netguys, each one representing a property of the network: speed, power, reach, and smarts.

- 3
Play unfolds in third-person view as the player moves a character through a 3D city, running across streets and over rooftops.

- 4
The city's blocks are randomly generated, so the layout is different on every new playthrough.

- 5
Sessions are short and casual, playable directly in the browser with no install or registration.
