Objective
USA Network launched Graceland: Undercover to deepen viewer engagement with its crime thriller series Graceland. The second-screen experience was designed to complement live TV viewing and provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interactive exploration of the show's world.
Solution
Graceland: Undercover was a multi-platform interactive app where viewers created a virtual agent identity and progressively unlocked rooms throughout the Graceland mansion with 360-degree views. The experience featured over 60 exclusive videos shot from individual character perspectives, a points and badges reward system, and social integration through Facebook and the Graceland Chatter community hub. Users competed for prizes, including a Kia-sponsored trip to Malibu. The app launched on the web (gracelandundercover.tv) on June 6, 2013, with iOS apps on the Apple App Store one week later, utilizing audio recognition technology to sync with broadcast episodes.
