Objective

Le Coq Sportif, a French sportswear brand, created an interactive playable experience to engage audiences during the 2014 Tour de France season. The campaign aimed to connect the brand's sports identity with digital entertainment by letting users simulate participating in the Tour de France using their computers and smartphones together.

Solution

The Sporty Finger Game was a cross-device interactive experience developed by agency Nedd in partnership with Orange. Players used rapid finger tapping on their computer keyboards to simulate 'riding' in the Tour de France, racing against competitors in real-time using WebSocket technology. The game featured minimalist design with black, white, and golden yellow colors, and players warmed up their fingers to build endurance and outpace rivals across multiple competitive rounds.

Results

The campaign received an Honorable Mention award from Awwwards on June 29, 2014. Jury evaluation showed high design and creativity scores (9.20 and 8.90 ratings). No published data on player engagement metrics, campaign reach, or conversion results were found.
