Objective
Publicis Groupe transformed their annual end-of-year executive message into an interactive charitable experience. Building on a tradition dating back to 2008, the 2015 campaign leveraged cutting-edge mobile gaming technology to engage employees and viewers while driving donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation, supporting children with life-threatening medical conditions globally.
Solution
The Very Good Wishes was the first YouTube video game controlled via mobile and tablet devices using smartphone accelerometer technology. Viewers synchronized their smartphones with a desktop YouTube video through a URL or QR code, then tilted their phones to control a carnival claw machine in a 3D-recreated version of CEO Maurice Lévy's office. Players aimed to catch 30 regular items plus 9 hidden collectibles across 290 interlocking sub-videos. The experience combined entertainment with direct charitable impact: each interaction contributed to the €50,000 fundraising goal for Make-A-Wish.
