Objective

Life insurance is a hard sell precisely because most people talk themselves out of the conversation before it starts — the topic feels abstract, morbid, and overly financial. Prudential needed a low-stakes, entertaining way to get people thinking about probability and risk, one that would expose how badly they actually judge the odds and make the case for talking to someone whose job is to get them right.

Solution

Players are dealt five cards, each describing a real-life event — dying by vending-machine accident, dating a supermodel, having a bike stolen — and have to drag them into order from least to most likely. Once the hand is set, a scoring screen reveals the actual odds behind each card and grades how far off the player's instincts were, then drops their score onto a leaderboard they can share or use to challenge friends. A header bar lets players jump home, check the leaderboard, mute the sound, or pull up a quick how-to-play popup, and a new deal is always one tap away for another round.

How it plays

8 steps
  1. 1

The player opens the game in a phone or desktop browser to a casino-styled title screen, with a header offering a Home button, a trophy Leaderboard button, a sound toggle, and a help icon that opens a rules pop-up.

  2. 2

The player is dealt a hand of five cards, each printed with a life event ranging from causes of death to strokes of luck, such as "Death by Vending Machine," "Dating a Supermodel," "Having Your Bike Stolen," or growing to 10 feet tall.

  3. 3

The core task is to arrange the five cards in a row by estimated probability, from least likely to most likely to happen.

  4. 4

Once the order is locked in, the game reveals the real odds behind each card and scores the round for accuracy, showing the player exactly where their sense of risk was off.

  5. 5

Players can also enter a competitive mode that matches them against other players and compares who judges the odds more accurately.

  6. 6

Scores feed into a leaderboard, reachable from the trophy button in the header at any time.

  7. 7

The player can share their result to challenge friends to test their own sense of probability.

  8. 8

New hands keep the game going indefinitely, with sound controlled at any time via the header toggle.
