Objective

Protokid antivirus software aimed to demonstrate its protection capabilities through interactive entertainment. The campaign leveraged a branded game to personify security features and combat fictional virus threats, making technical protection tangible and engaging for computer users concerned about file theft and system threats.

Solution

An arcade-style scrolling shooter game where players took on the role of Protokid anti-virus software, digitized to defend against the Pop Pirates virus invasion. Players controlled their protokid character using mouse controls and fired with the left button, starting with a basic blue ray gun and progressively unlocking more powerful weapons including Killer-Watt, Mega-Bite, and Firewall. The narrative frame positioned pirates as having hacked ProtoKid servers to steal music files, giving players a mission to recover their data and clean the system. The game was hosted on the ProtoKid website and also distributed on casual gaming portals.
