Meeting Intruders

Objective

In August 2020, as remote work and video conferencing surged during the pandemic, Google partnered with B-Reel creative studio to address 'meeting fatigue' by introducing a playable distraction. The goal was to make Google Meet more engaging and entertaining by allowing participants to engage in a lighthearted gaming experience without disrupting the meeting workflow.

Solution

Meeting Intruders is a browser-based shooter game integrated into Google Meet as a Chrome extension. Players can discreetly blast targets on their personal screens while participating in video calls, creating a dual-screen experience where work and play happen simultaneously. The game runs passively during meetings, allowing users to manage attention and stress without affecting their colleagues' meeting experience.
