Objective
Arte, a European public broadcaster, created an interactive game experience to extend engagement with its political thriller series 'Occupied'—a Scandinavian drama depicting a hypothetical Russian invasion of Norway. The campaign transformed passive television viewers into active participants by offering them agency within the show's narrative universe.
Solution
An online roleplay experience where players selected a character role from the series (Norway's Prime Minister, a Russian diplomat, or security personnel) and made decisions shaping the geopolitical outcome. The branching narrative gave audiences control over the fictional course of events, with the premise 'you are the one who writes the history of your country and of Europe.' Delivered by Femme Fatale Studio through conception design, art direction, web development, and post-production, the interactive game was hosted at occupied.arte.tv.
