Objective

MegaFon sought to increase daily app engagement and foster sustained return visits by embedding an interactive puzzle game within its telecom application. The game was designed to deepen user investment in the brand's ecosystem and create a cyberpunk-themed gaming universe tied to the company's mascot Corgi.

Solution

Digital Lab developed an in-app block-blast puzzle game with neon cyberpunk aesthetics, isometric 3D visuals, and synthwave sound design. Players clear rows and columns of blocks to collect crystals, then spend earned coins to build and upgrade structures across three cyberpunk districts — unlocking the next district requires completing eight buildings in the current one. The game runs on three currencies: coins, batteries, and rubles, with ruble purchases charged to the player's MegaFon account and cross-currency conversion available. Weekly top-10 and monthly top-50 leaderboards award prizes, a fortune wheel (first spin free, then paid in coins) hands out boosters and rating points, seasonal battle passes grant extra coins and bonuses for progress, and a pest-catching minigame tasks players with chasing 40 robots off a neighboring plot within 30 seconds. Players earn cosmetic rewards, instant prizes, and rating stars through level progression and competitive rankings.

Results

The game campaign ran for a full year in the MegaFon app, from 26 May 2025 to 25 May 2026, with weekly top-10 and monthly top-50 leaderboard prizes. Grand prizes included MacBooks, iPhone 16, and PlayStation 5/Xbox consoles, plus gadgets (smart watches, Xiaomi robot vacuums, smart speakers) and subscription bundles (MegaKino, Yandex Plus with MegaFon, Gazprom Bonus with MegaFon, Litres, VK Music with MegaFon).
