Objective
OUIGO, SNCF's young low-cost rail brand, needed to build awareness fast and make its positioning stick: Rosapark's pitch was that OUIGO is "bright, cheap, fast and fun — like pinball," a comparison broad enough to land with every generation. The game extended the launch TV spot into something playable, doubling as a promotion for the new routes OUIGO was adding across France in 2017.
Solution
The table opens straight in the browser, on desktop or phone, shot from overhead with the camera tracking the ball. Instead of pulling a plunger, the player launches an OUIGO train down the lane, and instead of generic targets, each mission is a city on the network — hitting one lights up a letter of OUIGO at the center of the table, building a visible progress meter as the game goes. A dot-matrix readout tracks score, the live mission, and a growing jackpot while the player chases multiball, ramps, bumpers, tunnels, multipliers, and hidden zones toward a final boss, with the ball eventually draining and a top score earning a spot on the online leaderboard. OUIGO also built a physical arcade cabinet of the same game, where players work the side buttons and enter their initials for the leaderboard the old-fashioned way.
- 1
Players open the game directly in a browser at OUIGO's site, with no install needed on desktop or smartphone; the same table also exists as a physical arcade cabinet for offline play, with side buttons for flipper control and a three-button interface for entering initials on the leaderboard.
- 2
The table is shown from overhead in OUIGO's brand colors, with the camera dynamically tracking the ball as it moves around the field.
- 3
A train standing in for the classic plunger launches the ball (spacebar on desktop); flippers are controlled with the A and P keys on desktop or by touch on mobile.
- 4
An overhead scoreboard tracks the running score, flags when a mission is activated or completed, and shows the accumulating jackpot.
- 5
The core progression is a set of missions tied to real OUIGO destinations such as Paris, Marseille, Rennes, and Strasbourg, each themed around a local landmark or icon; clearing a mission lights up a letter of OUIGO on a five-part progress display.
- 6
Between missions, the ball loop plays out through ramps, bumpers, tunnels, and loops, with multipliers and secret zones to find along the way.
- 7
The table also offers a multiball mode where several balls are in play at once for faster scoring, plus a chance module and a wizard-mode boss challenge for players who progress far enough.
- 8
Completing all five destination missions unlocks a jackpot finale: players must hit each of four targets three times, then route the ball through a main door to bank the jackpot built up during the game.
- 9
A ball saver protects against early misses so a mistimed shot doesn't end the session immediately.
- 10
A game-over screen closes the session, sending the score to an online leaderboard where players compete against each other; results were also tied to a promotion awarding vouchers for discounted OUIGO tickets.
