Google Santa Tracker 2015
Open the game

Objective
Google created Santa Tracker to engage users during the holiday season through an interactive experience that showcased Google services like Maps and Translate while providing educational content for children. The campaign blended entertainment with coding education, positioning Google as both a utility and a learning platform.
Solution
An interactive web and mobile experience featuring real-time Santa tracking on Google Maps with a Santa Cam, an educational hub (Santa's Village) with mini-games including Code Boogie (block-based coding for children), Present Drop, a Christmas traditions explorer, and a language translation feature. Google also open-sourced the codebase on GitHub and created Code Lab, an educational challenge where users programmed Santa's movements using block-based logic. The design used bright colors (teal, coral, white) with flat design principles and SVG animations.
