Objective
Coca-Cola Zero Sugar launched SnapSkate in Germany to build brand awareness among teenagers during the product launch in early 2017. The brand sought to leverage Snapchat's native platform capabilities and influential teen personalities (pro skater Denny Pham and influencer izzi) to create an innovative, interactive experience that would resonate with a digitally-native audience and differentiate the product launch from traditional advertising.
Solution
SnapSkate was the first fully native game experience built directly within Snapchat. The game featured a Jump'n'Run (endless runner) mechanics where players controlled professional skateboarder Denny Pham, jumping over obstacles to progress through levels. Players engaged by tapping at the right moments to help the skater clear obstacles in Snapchat Stories format. The game was hosted on the official Snapchat channels of both Denny Pham and Coca-Cola Germany, reaching the platform's teen and young adult user base. The campaign ran as a limited 3-day activation from March 31 to April 2.
