Objective
Legendary needed to keep Godzilla vs. Kong culturally present in the gap between films, so it rented attention inside someone else's hit rather than building its own audience from scratch. Putting the Titans directly into Warzone's active player base let Legendary convert existing fan affinity into paid cosmetics and captured emails for the MonsterVerse brand.
Solution
Drop into a Quads Resurgence match on Caldera and Godzilla and Kong are already loose on the map, wrecking the terrain as roaming threats rather than static skins. As the player fights normally, a Monarch Intel meter fills in the corner of the screen; once it's full, they call in the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device killstreak and get to aim one of the Titans' signature attacks — Godzilla's Heat Ray or Kong's ground pound — at a spot on the map to wipe out enemies below. Outside the match itself, players work through eight event challenges tied to playtime and Titan damage to unlock cosmetic rewards, and can buy a Godzilla, Kong, or Mechagodzilla operator bundle to carry into both Warzone and Vanguard. A separate off-battlefield step lets players submit their email on monsterverse.com and redeem the code on their Activision Account to unlock exclusive calling cards.

Before the mode itself is playable, the campaign meets players outside the game: a teaser trailer and social post announce the May 11 launch, three Tracer Pack bundles (Godzilla, Kong, Mechagodzilla) go on sale in the Warzone and Vanguard stores, and the official blog publishes in-fiction Monarch dossiers detailing each Titan's stats and attacks. A cross-promotional tie-in lets players submit their email on monsterverse.com and redeem a code on callofduty.com to unlock exclusive calling cards.

On May 11 players select the limited-time Operation Monarch playlist, a 60-player Quads Resurgence mode on the Caldera map, and drop into a first safe area that has been shrunk to a smaller section of the island.
- 3
A 'Titan Frenzy' event opens each match: Godzilla and Kong go berserk, and players choose to retreat or fight back to suppress them. Godzilla patrols the island firing a telegraphed Heat Ray (a blue glow and red minimap circles giving seconds of warning), while Kong leaps unpredictably, downs anyone he touches, and crushes vehicles underfoot.
- 4
The core loop is scavenging: players loot Supply Boxes, special drops, and fallen enemies — and damaging the Titans directly — to collect Monarch Intel, which fills a meter that unlocks Killstreaks and Loadout Drops along the way and, when full, grants a Titan Killstreak. Because the mode runs on Resurgence rules, eliminated players keep redeploying as long as one squadmate survives.
- 5
A second Titan Frenzy turns into a squad-vs-squad contest: whichever team deals the most damage to a Titan wins the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device, a killstreak that lets its holder aim Godzilla's Heat Ray or Kong's ground pound/rock throw at any point on the map, while other squads bank Intel toward their own meter instead. The device has a cooldown between uses, pushing squads to save it for the endgame.
- 6
The match otherwise plays out as a standard battle royale, ending when one squad is left standing; winning also unlocks two secret player titles tied to the Titans.
- 7
Across matches, players work through an eight-challenge tracker — things like total playtime, Killstreak uses, cumulative Titan damage, and Frenzy-specific damage to one Titan or the other — each unlocking its own cosmetic, with completing all eight awarding a free weapon blueprint and a hidden top-damage bonus awarding a charm.
- 8
Alongside the free track, three purchasable bundles pair an Operator skin with weapon blueprints themed to Godzilla, Kong, or Mechagodzilla, and a limited-time stacking offer grants extra cosmetics for buying two bundles and a bonus weapon for buying all three.
- 9
The mode leaves rotation after two weeks, on May 25, removing the Titans and the playlist itself while leaving players with whatever cosmetics and bundles they already earned or bought.
