Objective

Nokia aimed to revitalize its iconic Snake game and position N-Gage as a serious gaming platform for a new generation. The 2005 campaign leveraged nostalgia while demonstrating mobile gaming innovation and the device's multiplayer capabilities. By transforming a beloved classic into a modern 3D experience, Nokia sought to drive awareness and adoption of N-Gage among gaming enthusiasts.

Solution

Farfar created a full 3D remake of Snake featuring 42 levels with both square and hex grid options. The game supported up to 4 players in online multiplayer with integrated scoreboards. Players could download the game free from www.snakesoutbreak.com and via the Nokia website, then share copies with other N-Gage owners through Bluetooth connections, creating a viral peer-to-peer distribution mechanic. This 'outbreak' concept turned players into brand ambassadors, spreading the game organically across the N-Gage user base.
