Objective

Nike .SWOOSH, a Web3 platform targeting the NFT community, created a promotional campaign tied to the Air Force 1 Low '404 Error' sneaker. The limited release (only 404 pairs) played on internet culture and 404 error themes, aiming to generate excitement and exclusivity among Web3-native audiences.

Solution

An 8-bit spacecraft minigame called Glitch Galaxy where players navigate through glitchy environments by flying a spacecraft. The game featured simple mechanics—item spawning, collision detection, sprite animation—with touch controls for mobile and keyboard controls for desktop. The first 4,000 players to complete the game unlocked exclusive access to purchase the limited-edition Air Force 1 Low '404 Error' sneaker ($175), driving engagement through scarcity and gamified rewards. The game was hosted on the .SWOOSH platform.

Results

Nike created Glitch Galaxy, a mini-game that served as an unlock mechanism for an exclusive Air Force 1 Low '404' sneaker.
