Objective

Nesquik wanted its own website to hold kids' attention rather than just host them, so it built a free browser game around the brand's mascot, the Nesquik bunny (Quicky), with the payoff on every level being the product itself: a glass of Nesquik. No brand brief, media plan or KPI for the game has turned up beyond that goal.

Solution

The bunny rolls forward on his skateboard on a fixed track through eight themed levels, from city streets to open countryside, and the player never steers him directly — instead you clear the road by clicking on whatever is in the scene. Tap a gate, a fire hydrant, a cement mixer, a zoo padlock, a beehive or a farm truck lever at the right moment and it swings open, tips over or fires off to become a ramp, a bridge or a well-timed distraction instead of a crash. A few obstacles need a drag instead of a click — an ice cream handed to a boy, a manhole cover dropped onto a man, a harness passed up to a climber. Clear a level's hazards in time and the bunny skates straight into his glass of Nesquik, then the next stage begins.

How it plays

6 steps
  1. 1

The game opens on a main menu with an instructions screen the player can read before starting the quest.

  2. 2

The Nesquik bunny automatically skateboards along a fixed route that the player cannot steer; the player's task is to clear a path through the scenery so the bunny reaches a glass of Nesquik unharmed.

  3. 3

Across the first four levels — a ramp run, a city street, a shopping mall and a building site — the player clicks scenery elements to trigger them out of the bunny's way and drags loose objects onto matching characters or gaps to remove each obstacle.

  4. 4

The same click-and-drag clearing mechanic carries into a zoo, a park and a farm/countryside level, each reskinning the obstacles as animals, park fixtures and farmyard hazards.

  5. 5

The final mountain level, Skate Summit, adds a quick timed pickup — grabbing a harness and dragging it to a climber — on top of the usual clicking and dragging of scenery.

  6. 6

Clearing the eighth level ends the game with a congratulatory closing screen as the bunny finally reaches his glass of Nesquik.
