Objective
To promote Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace's 3D theatrical release (February 2012), Brisk Iced Tea partnered with Lucasfilm to launch a branded mobile game that would engage Star Wars fans while reinforcing brand loyalty. The campaign leveraged the movie's release as a cultural moment to drive downloads and consumer engagement through specially marked packaging.
Solution
Brisksaber was a mobile game app available on iOS and Android, featuring a blend of 2D and 3D graphics. Players could select their allegiance (Light Side or Dark Side) and choose between Time Trial or Survival gameplay modes to battle iconic Star Wars characters including Yoda, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan Kenobi using lightsabers. The core mechanic tied the app to the physical product: codes printed on specially marked one-liter Brisk bottles could be redeemed to unlock new characters, lightsabers, and objects within the game. The campaign integrated social features, including Facebook leaderboards and the ability to share scores on Facebook and Twitter. Support included a 30-second TV spot with stop-motion animation, retail positioning, and interactive TV features on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The promotion ran through April 30, 2012.
