Objective

Bridgestone created the Performance Trials app to showcase its partnership with the 2016 Rio Olympics and the ethos of elite athletic performance. The campaign connected the brand's high-performance tire technology to athletic excellence, enabling global audiences to test their own athletic skills through a competitive mobile gaming experience.

Solution

A collection of 28 mini-games released on iOS and Android in May 2016, integrated into the Bridgestone Performance Institute platform. Each game corresponds to an Olympic sport—sprinting, jumping, swimming, tennis, and others. Players earn bronze, silver, or gold medals and accumulate 'Performance Points' based on their performance. The app features global leaderboards, Facebook friend competition modes, unlockable avatars (Engineer, Superhero, Ancient Athlete), achievement badges with social sharing, and personalized progress tracking. The entire experience was developed in three months.
