Objective
Mercado Dia%, a Brazilian supermarket chain, commissioned this advergame from AmpyGames to reach shoppers online under its own brand rather than through a third-party game portal. No brief, press coverage, or case study survives to explain the specific marketing goal behind it — only that it was built as a promotional game for the Brazilian market.
Solution
Players land on a title screen, then move into a character-creation screen where they build their own avatar for the game. From there, they play as that character across a series of hand-drawn 2D locations, with the character animated frame by frame as it moves through each scene. What players are actually asked to do once inside those scenes — objectives, scoring, or any reward — isn't preserved in any surviving material, so the session's shape beyond character creation and movement can't be described.
- 1
The game opens on a title screen branded with the Dia% supermarket campaign, from which the player launches the experience.
- 2
Before playing, the player builds a custom character in a dedicated creation screen.
- 3
The player then guides that character through a series of hand-drawn 2D scenes; the character is animated frame by frame, including a walk cycle, as the backdrop changes between different illustrated locations.
