Objective
Travelzoo engaged literature enthusiasts by capitalizing on 2016's major British literary anniversaries—Shakespeare's 400th, Charlotte Brontë's 200th, Beatrix Potter's 150th, and Roald Dahl's 100th—alongside other events on that year's UK literary calendar such as World Book Day, National Storytelling Week, and National Libraries Day, to combine passion for classic books with travel inspiration and destination discovery.
Solution
An interactive mapping quiz where players matched 11 iconic British literary works — including titles by Emily Brontë, Thomas Hardy, C.S. Lewis, Muriel Spark, Dylan Thomas and Winston Graham — to their geographical settings within a 30-second time limit per book. Upon completion, players received a shareable 'book-smart score' (postable to Facebook to challenge friends) and unlocked a full interactive map that transformed into a travel resource for planning literary holidays across the UK. All participants were entered into a prize draw, with entries closing February 14, 2016, for a two-night stay at the Wordsworth Hotel in the Lake District. Built with HTML5 and responsive design by blueglass.

Recognized as an Awwwards Nominee (Feb 10, 2016), the site received votes from 15 of 31 community reviewers, with individual scores ranging from 3.00 to 8.00 out of 10.
