Objective
During Demons' six-week run on ITV1, the broadcaster needed a reason for viewers to keep coming back to the show's site between episodes and a way to stretch the series' world past the weekly hour of airtime.
Solution
The game sits inside the show's promo hub on ITV's site, dropping players straight into the Demons world. One mode has them running and jumping through platform levels set in the show's locations; a second switches to a side-scrolling brawler where they fight their way through waves of demons, arcade-style, moving right across the screen and trading hits as they go. Built-in sharing links let players pass the game straight on to friends after a session, so a single visit could spread well beyond the person who first clicked play.
- 1
The player opens the show's promo page on the ITV site and launches the game in-browser, without leaving the broadcaster's page.
- 2
The player controls a character through a platformer mode, moving and jumping across levels set in the world of Demons.
- 3
The player switches to a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up mode, fighting off advancing demons in a horizontal arcade-style brawl.
- 4
The player can share the game or their result with friends through built-in viral features.
