Google Chrome: Data Defense

Objective

Google Chrome for Enterprise partnered with Red Paper Heart to create an educational experience for the 2023 Bloomberg Technology Summit, addressing enterprise attendees' need to understand cybersecurity threats and data protection in an engaging, memorable way. The campaign aimed to make complex security concepts accessible and playful while building awareness about Chrome Enterprise's security capabilities.

Solution

Data Defense is an 800-square-foot immersive installation where up to 4 players collaborate in real-time gameplay. Players control stylized Chrome browser windows on a touch table interface to locate and neutralize simulated security threats from multiple directions within a 30-second timeframe. The experience combines individual skill with group participation, with team scores tracked on a live leaderboard. The installation was deployed at the 2023 Bloomberg Technology Summit in both San Francisco and London.

Results

Won Communicator Awards – Excellence 2024 for tradeshow/conference activation. Installed at two major technology conference locations in 2023. Generated press coverage about gamification and cybersecurity education innovations.
