Objective

Bright Light Bright Light's label built the game to give the new album "Fun City" a launch moment that spoke directly to fans steeped in 80s/90s nostalgia. Since the album plays inside the game as a live stream from Spotify, Apple Music and TIDAL, every playthrough doubles as a full listen that counts toward the artist's streaming numbers. The pickups double down on the artist's identity, folding pride flags into the classic maze-muncher format.

Solution

Players steer a pixel-art avatar of Bright Light Bright Light through a Pac-Man-style maze, using arrow keys to dodge the classic ghost chase. Instead of dots, the maze is scattered with pizza slices, bagels and rainbow pride flags, each one adding to the player's score on pickup. The entire "Fun City" album streams in the background for the length of the session, so clearing the maze means listening through the record. When the run ends, the score posts to a public leaderboard where fans compete for the top spot.

How it plays

4 steps
  1. 1

The player takes control of a pixel-art version of electropop artist Bright Light Bright Light, navigating a maze in the style of a classic Pac-Man clone.

  2. 2

Moving through the corridors, the player collects scattered items — pizza slices, bagels, and rainbow pride flags — earning points for each one picked up.

  3. 3

The artist's new album "Fun City" plays in full as the soundtrack during play, streamed live from Spotify, Apple Music, or TIDAL.

  4. 4

Points earned during a run are posted to a shared leaderboard showing the player's rank among other fans, and the player can restart to try for a higher score.
