Objective

Coca-Cola Zero capitalized on UEFA Euro 2008 football championship excitement to drive engagement with young men aged 20-29 in Germany and beyond. The campaign aimed to reinforce the brand's association with sports, action, and youthful energy during the high-visibility tournament. By creating an interactive game experience, Coca-Cola sought to generate viral engagement and memorable brand moments during peak summer sporting season.

Solution

North Kingdom created an interactive advergame featuring protagonist Tim navigating four skill-based mini-game challenges: jumping over a broken bridge, ball juggling, smashing walls with a football, and mega pinball gameplay. The campaign combined lavish filmic video sequences with interactive controls (reminiscent of Dragon's Lair), offering players the chance to earn front-row VIP seats to UEFA 2008 matches. The Flash-based game featured smooth integration of rich streaming video with responsive controls, released across Germany and later expanded to over ten international markets. Robert Lindström served as Art Director & Lead Designer.

Results

The campaign reached 1,400,000 visitors who completed the game experience, with an average engagement time of 9.5 minutes. The project received major industry recognition including FWA Site of the Day and Site of the Month awards, Bronze at Clio Awards 2008, and Silver at Cannes Cyber Lions 2008.
