AliExpress: AR Graffiti
Open the game

Objective
AliExpress promoted its 11.11 Global Shopping Day by creating an innovative augmented reality campaign targeting young audiences in London. The brand sought to leverage emerging AR technology to generate buzz and drive engagement around its annual mega shopping event, combining cutting-edge tech with cultural relevance in a street art hub.
Solution
UNIT9 created the world's first interactive AR graffiti experience. Physical graffiti installations were placed in Shoreditch, London, where users could point their smartphones at the installations to view augmented reality overlays powered by Apple's ARKit technology. The markerless AR tracking worked directly through the device camera without requiring any QR codes or markers, allowing seamless interaction with the digital art layer.
Results
The campaign achieved an online reach of nearly 3 million people within a couple of days of launch, with amplification driven by social media influencers across multiple industries.
