Objective

Air France sought to build awareness for its newly refurbished Business Class cabins on Boeing 777 aircraft across the Asia-Pacific region. The campaign targeted premium cabin passengers and aimed to drive engagement through an incentivized mobile gaming experience deployed at key hub airports in late 2014 and early 2015.

Solution

Cloud Slicer was a touch-screen mobile game deployed on tablets stationed at airport gates in Singapore Changi and Osaka Kansai. Players swiped the screen to cut clouds and competed for high scores. Top scorers received instant cabin upgrades to Air France Business Class on their departing flights. The campaign launched in-airport in late 2014, then expanded to a regional competition format from January 19, 2015, with winners selected across multiple competition periods.
