Objective

Paye ta Pinte, a French mobile app connecting users to the cheapest beer prices at nearby bars, needed a way to drive app downloads and boost user engagement. The agency leveraged a cultural insight: a traditional European drinking game popular across French and European territories. Turning a classic social ritual into a digital multiplayer experience allowed the brand to build community connection while promoting app adoption.

Solution

A WebGL-based multiplayer game that digitizes the traditional French caps game. Players compete one-on-one, attempting to throw caps to knock opponent bottle-caps off; successful hits force the opponent to drink and take their turn. The first player to finish their bottle loses. Designed as a fully-rendered web experience, the game was playable online among friends regardless of location. Built with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) for design and WebGL for interactive rendering. Launched October 19, 2015 by six-person team at Viens-là agency.

Results

Exceeded 15,000 players within the first 3 days of launch. Drove a 52% increase in Paye ta Pinte app downloads. Won Awwwards Site of the Day recognition.
