Objective

Nike launched Chris Paul's fourth signature basketball shoe, the Jordan CP3.IV, in late 2010 with a nationwide release on January 1, 2011. To drive awareness and engagement for the new performance shoe, the brand created a digital experience that would showcase Paul's speed and athleticism while generating buzz across web and mobile platforms.

Solution

CP3K is a free performance simulator game released for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and as a web experience on Nike's Jumpman23 platform. Players tap the screen to guide a character running through courses, landing on speed-boost pads, jump-height enhancers, and dunk zones across nine levels. The game employs a three-star rating system based on speed and completion time, encouraging replay and social sharing. The mobile app was distributed free on iTunes, while the web version was integrated into Nike's campaign hub.
