Objective

20th Century Fox partnered with Microsoft Internet Explorer to promote the Prometheus film (2012) by creating an immersive digital experience. The campaign aimed to deepen audience engagement with the film's universe by simulating fictional recruitment for the Weyland Corporation's Project Prometheus mission, leveraging cutting-edge HTML5 and web standards to attract sci-fi fans.

Solution

An interactive recruitment simulation where players assumed the role of job applicants for the Prometheus mission. The experience combined physical tests (agility treadmill obstacle course, microgravity balance simulation) and cognitive challenges (personality interview, 3D shape-rotation puzzle, cube-sorting logic test). A fictional android character named Andrea Bishop guided players through assessments within the Weyland Corporation narrative framework. Built with HTML5 web standards, the experience was hosted on the official Prometheus movie website and optimized for Internet Explorer.

Results

Project Prometheus: Training Center received a Gold award at Cannes Lions 2013 for Branded Content & Entertainment and earned Awwwards' Site of the Day recognition on July 1, 2012.
