Objective

Engage Twitter users by creating an interactive mobile game that leverages real-time social content. The app invited players to participate in a shooting gallery experience powered by live tweets, allowing interaction with trending topics and popular Twitter accounts.

Solution

Tweet Hunt was a physics-based shooting gallery game released as an iOS app (iPhone/iPad) in July 2011. Players used a slingshot mechanic to stop tweets (represented as birds) from escaping across the screen. The game featured four distinct modes: Celebirdies (targeting tweets from famous users like @Snooki, @KatyPerry, @AshtonKutcher, and @ConanObrien), Top Trends (eliminating tweets from trending topics), My Tweeps (hunting personal timeline tweets), and Practice mode. Players could deploy a 'fail whale' power-up to clear visible birds. The game integrated live Twitter API data and required internet connection for most modes.
