New Year Tree Under Construction

Objective

An architecture bureau (ABD Architects) commissioned an interactive New Year greeting card to engage clients and partners with a playful, profession-themed experience. The card positioned the bureau through a building-focused game, allowing participants to literally 'feel an architect' during the 2018 holiday season.

Solution

Players act as architects in a tower-building game, stacking blocks from a moving crane with timing and precision. The game mechanics require players to match the rhythm of a horizontally-moving crane to place blocks accurately and construct an increasingly tall structure. Built with WebGL, Three.js, and GLSL shaders for 3D rendering, the experience combines HTML5, CSS, and SVG technologies to create a responsive, browser-based interactive greeting.

Results

Awarded Awwwards Honorable Mention in December 2018. Received community recognition with 15 community votes.
